I have added Cultures for Health as an affiliate. They are a great resource for anything related to fermentation and sprouting: sourdough, kefir, kombucha, yogurt, and cheese. They sell starters, books, and supplies, such as crocks. They offer free e-books to help you get started fermenting or making other healthy foods. And I’m not talking about a 10-page outline. Their 180-page yogurt book tells you everything you didn’t even know existed about yogurt.
I bought water kefir grains this past summer and made water kefir for months. I tried kombucha last year but never acquired a taste for it. Water kefir, on the other hand, is not as strong and can be flavored with fruit juice. I like pomegranate juice. I drink about 8 ounces every few days to get a probiotic boost. It’s a little fizzy and a little sour, but not overbearing. The grains are easy to care for, which is always a plus.
I plan to try sourdough soon. I also have some seeds for sprouting that I want to work with. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. Ha!
If you haven’t read about the benefits of lacto-fermentation, Cultures for Health is an excellent resource to educate you. Check them out!
