Challenge: 30 Days to Less Stuff and More Life

I mentioned last week that we’re going to take another round at reducing our clutter. We need to combine our storage to one unit. Our apartment doesn’t have any storage, so that’s about the best we can do at this time.  We’re still not hardcore minimalists, but we definitely are cutting into our pack rat tendencies.

In the past, I’ve employed different strategies at sifting through our stuff with varying degrees of success.  This time, I’m going to use a course developed by my friend, Lorilee Lippincott, Simple Living – 30 days to less stuff and more lifeShe breaks down the task of reducing clutter into 30 bite-sized chunks.  She goes beyond the closets and tackles the kitchen, junk drawers, social media (yikes!), surface areas, paperwork, and on and on.  Every day is a little different, not just going from room to room, but identifying areas of life that get weighed down with junk that she calls “dead plants”.  Boy, do I have some dead plants.

So, to help Lorilee launch her new book and to motivate me to really dig in to another round of decluttering, I’m issuing the call to all my readers to join me in the 30 Days to Less Stuff and More Life Challenge.  Some days may be less important to you than others, and that’s okay.  But we can all do it together and benefit from getting rid of something.

Lorilee’s book is on sale, this week only, for 99 cents.  That’s a steal!  It’s a great book with practical assignments, tips, and real life examples.  I don’t know about you, but I love to read other people’s stories and struggles.  It validates my own problems or makes them look trivial.  Either way, it works for me.

Instead of doing the book in 30 days straight, I’m going to break it down into three chapters a week over 10 weeks.  I can’t guarantee what days I’ll do it, probably Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday.  You can join me on whatever days work for you.

The link to the book is for a Kindle version, but you don’t have to have a Kindle to read it.  They have a computer program that lets you read Kindle-formatted books.  There is a link to the program on the same page as the book.  Super easy, but give me a holler for help if you need it.
